March 26, 2007 Hello: My name is Debbie Coote and I am the Community Liaison for the Omemee Business & Community Improvement Association. I work with my Assistant, Shayne MacLaren, and our function is to liaise between you and the O.B.C.I.A. We will endeavour to answer your questions and find out any information that you require. As stated in the O.B.C.I.A. Mission Statement, our mandate is to support the promotion and development of the Community of Omemee. The need to support the businesses in Omemee is paramount. Retention of our local businesses is just as important as the development of new businesses. The O.B.C.I.A. is working with OMAFRA (Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs), to remove barriers to community development and economic growth. Through education, hard work and tenacity, we will be able to realize this result. No matter the size of the community or municipality, community leaders are all interested in building strong vibrant local communities. Businesses and the jobs they create are critical components of strong economies. Strong local economies cannot exist without a growing business/job creation sector. Supporting the development and growth of local businesses is fundamental to achieving this objective. OMAFRA WEBSITE If at any time you would like more information on the Omemee Downtown Revitalization Project, O.B.C.I.A., please do not hesitate to call us at 799-0898. Yours truly, Debbie Coote Shayne MacLaren Community Liaison Assistant Community Liaison
